Help Jose Rodriquez Get Life-Changing Surgery
Hi, my name is Angie, and I’m asking for help for my husband, Jose Rodriquez.
In November 2021, Jose was injured on the job. What we thought would be a temporary setback turned into a long and difficult journey. After months of testing and doctor visits, he underwent a total hip replacement in January 2023. We were hopeful—he recovered and was able to return to work.
But in May 2023, everything changed.
One day, while simply getting out of his vehicle, Jose felt something “pop” and was hit with instant, severe pain. He nearly collapsed. Since that moment, the pain has never gone away.
After multiple procedures and extensive testing, doctors discovered damage to both his femoral nerve and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. His pain is constant—at a level 8 every single day—and no medications have been able to relieve it. Because of this, Jose has not been able to work since May 2023.
We have spent the last three years searching for answers, traveling across the state looking for a surgeon who could help. Time and time again, we were told no.
But we didn’t give up—and we truly believe God guided us to the right place.
We have finally found a surgeon in Texas who is willing and ready to perform the surgery Jose desperately needs. This surgery could give him a chance at relief, at healing, and at getting his life back.
Unfortunately, the procedure is out of network with our insurance. We are required to pay $10,500 out-of-pocket upfront, two weeks before surgery can even be scheduled.
After years of medical expenses and Jose being unable to work, our savings have been completely drained. We are now at a point where we cannot move forward without help.
Jose is one of the most selfless people I know. He has always been the person others could count on—the one who would drop everything to help anyone in need. Not being able to do that anymore has been incredibly hard on him emotionally.
He misses the life he once had.
He misses fishing with his sons.
He misses being present for our two granddaughters and attending their activities.
He misses simply being able to move, to sit, to stand, to live without constant pain.
Now, he spends most of his days lying down because the pain is too severe. He walks with a cane and lives with the very real fear that without this surgery, he could end up in a wheelchair.
But we are holding onto faith.
We truly believe God did not open this door for it to be closed.
We are asking for your help to get Jose the surgery he needs. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward his medical expenses and bringing us closer to scheduling this life-changing procedure.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand—and we ask that you please share this story. Your prayers, support, and shares mean just as much to us as financial help.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing with us during this difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
Angie & Jose Rodriquez
