Stolen bikes Nola has been recovering and reuniting owners with their bikes in the Metro Orleans area. We have come a long way from a Facebook group started on May 6 2014! Over 700 bikes recovered and returned to their owners. We have gone through ups and downs and inner turmoil but we are still out there finding your bikes! We still need help and funding for :
Gas : I know that sounds ironic but we do search for and transport bikes by vehicle. Sometimes that adds up.
Tools : Yes grinders and bolt cutters get dull fast. Sometimes the same tools used for bike theft are needed to bring the stolen bike back home.
Advertising : So many people still don't know who we are and what we do.
Ghost bikes: Yes we make them. And we hope we never have to again every time we do one.
Future projects and dreams going forward :
Wouldn't it be amazing to give those who can not afford a decent lock a U lock? Wouldn't it be great to have a full time Bicycle Co op again in New Orleans? And so much more for the cycling community if funding continues!
