Rae's Journey
Donation protected
This is my beautiful cousin Rae Lee File, 22 years old and so much future ahead.
Rae Lee was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive bone cancer in her jaw this May. It is every parent’s and families very worst nightmare. At 22 years old she has been enduring chemotherapy every three weeks for 6 rounds. After she finishes her rounds of chemo, she will endure having a portion of her lower jaw removed which is a complex 10-hour surgery, to remove tumour and re-build her beautiful face. We continue to hope for best outcome.
It is a devastating experience to watch someone in our family be so very sick. The hardest part is watching so much vitality and joy slowly taken away from her. She was working full time, but no longer can work. She has a small apartment in Ottawa, and we are hoping to be able to support her to keep this space.
Most recently her beloved dog suddenly developed a serious hip difficulty which will cost close to $8,000 not including rehab, without good probability for positive outcome. As a result, she will have to put her dog down. Again, such a terrible loss for her currently.
My aunt (Rae's mom) has a pension and uncle (Rae's dad) does not have an income. They do not have extended health care benefits and remain uncertain to the longer-term dental surgery costs that will be needed.
Rae Lee is a ray of sunshine kind, caring, loves animals and such a beautiful young lady. Her story is so very sad and unfair. As a family we are doing our best to move through this time.
If we receive some donations, the funds would be used to support her to maintain her apartment, monthly costs, dental implants and help pay for the expense vet bills incurred. Rae is hoping and dreaming about the day she is a cancer survivor and wishes to travel to Europe with her best friend. Something that she has never done. We are determined to help her achieve this goal.
If you are not able to donate at this time, please say a prayer for her and pass this along to others that may wish to help. Thank you for taking time to read our story.
