Hello, this Jun and Kyoko Oshima-Kwon. Thank you for your interest in our story. Please share our story.
I'm reaching out to you because I've finally started a GoFundMe for my wife and me “Oshima-Kwon NYC Help Relief”. I never ask for help and am very reluctant to but at this time my family needs it.
Please view and read our GoFundMe link: GFM
On March 6th, 2020, my wife and I have recently temporarily lost our jobs due to the COVID 19 outbreak and closing of businesses in NYC (I am an Independent Sales rep and my wife is a Hairdresser) and we have not been able to find employment as of yet due to the NY state shutdown of non-essential workers and businesses all being closed.
Back in October 2018, I was laid off due to the company closing foreign offices. In September and November 2019, I needed urgent surgeries to fix both my hips. From 2018 up to the end of 2019, I was still unemployed and drained all my savings account to make ends meet.
Beginning of 2020, I started temporary freelance jobs and interviewing for a full-time position job, then we were impacted by the unprecedented situation again.
I have debt due to several medical bills from my surgeries to both of my hips still and now unable to continue my physical therapy each week.
Either way, I may have to go through a long cycle of low or no income for several months and both of us have zero income coming in and rent is due, utilities are due, car payment and insurances are due, phone bill, groceries, etc. and I have nowhere to turn for assistance our household expenses need to be covered. NYS unemployment benefit insurance claim centers are backed up online/phone and unable to get through to speak to someone to file claims.
If you could support our GoFundMe by making a donation and then sharing it with your network, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps me get closer to our relief goal!
Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer them.
I know we can get through this during the hardship by staying positive; we are hoping you may find it in your heart to help us.
Thank you for your kind consideration and God Bless! Peace and love each other! Stay Strong!!
Sincerely, Jun and Kyoko Oshima-Kwon
