My name is Emily Hollrah, and on October 8th, 2016, I will be marrying my soulmate and best friend, Nikki Green. We met 6 years ago, and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. We fall more and more in love every single day, and are so excited to celebrate our commitment to one another in just a few short months.
In planning our wedding, we decided together that we wanted to keep things small and simple, so we will be having a short ceremony and celebration with family and some close friends. Another thing we decided is that we didn't want to do a traditional wedding gift registry. The truth is that we really have all the things we need to start building our life together.
One thing we DO want, however, is the opportunity to go on a honeymoon that we've been dreaming of for quite a while. Neither of us has ever been to the Pacific Northwest, and a roadtrip through this gorgeous region (with our puppy Jesse, of course!) would be our perfect honeymoon adventure.
As an alternative to a traditional wedding gift, we would ask that our friends and family consider donating to this roadtrip fund, so that we can make this dream a reality. The trip won't take place until 2017, so that we have time to build up vacation days and save our own money as well, but we want to start planning as soon as we can. And while donations are definitely not expected from anyone, they are incredibly appreciated!
Thank you all so much for your support. Not only in the form of donations, but also in the love and encouragement you've all shown Nikki and I, both individually and as a couple.
Now, as a famous professor once said, "Let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure."
