We’ve now been told that even private care can’t offer my sister any more treatment options. Hearing that was absolutely devastating. She’s spent so much of her life unwell and hasn’t had the chance to experience the things most of us take for granted. So now, instead of focusing on what can’t be changed, we want to help her make the most of the time she has — to live, laugh, and feel the love she deserves.
One of her biggest wishes is to go to Port Lympne and stay in the beautiful lodges, surrounded by the animals she’s always loved. With your help, we want to make that dream come true, and give her as many special moments as we can. Every donation will go toward helping her create memories filled with joy, peace, and the people who mean the world to her.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us give her the chance to truly live — even just for a little while — and to make the memories she’s missed out on for so long.
My beautiful sister has spent her entire life fighting battles most of us could never imagine — and now she’s facing the biggest one of all.
She was born with a rare condition called bladder exstrophy, which meant her bladder formed outside of her body. At just 8 years old, she had major surgery to create a Mitrofanoff channel, allowing her to use a catheter to pass urine. While other kids were learning to ride bikes and play outside, she was learning how to live with tubes and catheters — yet she did it all with bravery and a smile.
But years of using catheters took a devastating toll. As an adult, she was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the bladder, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer caused by long-term catheter use. The doctors had no choice but to remove her bladder, leaving her with a stoma. It was a huge life change — but she never gave up. She adapted, she stayed positive, and she carried on.
Now, three years later, at just 30 years old, we’ve been given the heartbreaking news that the cancer has come back. It has spread to her pelvis and abdomen, and the NHS has sadly told us there are no further treatment options available. Hearing that was shattering — but we refuse to give up hope.
We’re turning to the kindness of others to help us raise the funds needed for her private care. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards consultations, treatments, and medications that could make a real difference in her fight for life.
My sister is one of the strongest, most loving people I know — she deserves the chance to keep fighting and to live the life she’s fought so hard for.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, sharing, and supporting her journey. ❤️
