Surgery for Sherri O. (Scrappy)

When I told Sherri that I was thinking about posting a "GoFundMe" page she was dead set against it. Her exact words were, "There are people who need it more than me, God will provide" But I wanted to post this because maybe this is God's way of providing for her. Those of you who know Scrappy, know that she can be a little rough around the edges lol. But she is always the first one to help anyone out when they need it. Those of you who don't know her, well you need to get to. She is one of a kind, I would know because I have been married to her crazy ass for 20 years.
Well now its our turn family and friends to help her... She has been sick for a couple of weeks and was just diagnosed with a gastric outlet obstruction caused by a build-up of scar tissue from her gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago. The obstruction has also caused a disease called GastroPeresis, which basically is poisoning her organs and she can have a ruptured intestine at anytime. If that occurs she has about 8 hours to have surgery or she will die. Her doctor has advised immediate surgery to correct this but the problem is she has NO insurance and no one will do the surgery until she ruptures; then of course it would be an absolute emergency and we would owe hundred of thousands of dollars. We have found an insurer and open enrollment is now, an insurance policy for Scrappy is 600.00 month which covers all medical procedures with a 1000.00 copay. So our goal is to get the insurance and she can have the surgery beginning in January and down time will be very minimal (as long as a rupture doesn't happen before then. For now she is on a liquid/pureed diet to minimalize that possibility. Things are very tight right now with a family of 5, as they are for everybody, but if everyone just gave a little bit we could gather enough to help out with the insurance and the cash pay visits that she has to do now for the Gastrointologist and her antibiotics which she has to stay on until the surgery as well. Scrappy is stubborn and doesnt want the cost of this to take a toll on the family, she is in alot of pain but still continues to work and take care of me, her Dad and the kids. I am thankful to have her. We NEED to get this surgery done asap! So I am asking all of you my friends to please donate what you can and please like and share this post so that we can get it out there. Thank you everyone and God Bless
