Stop Towantic Power is a group of concerned citizens dedicated to preventing the construction of a 785 megawatt fossil fuel power plant in rural Oxford, CT.
It's location, on a forested mountain top, threatens the pristine environment of the area which is surrounded by farms, bridle trails, homes and schools.
Ironically, Connecticut is already a power exporting state, and has no need for additional power generation. Although the prospective builder has an established position in renewable energy, the company chooses to import fracked natural gas to power this massive source of pollution.
Please help us in our fight to prevent this greenfield becoming a brownfield.
