Hi pals, a bit of a vulnerable one from me today. I took Trixie to the vet this morning because I noticed her face was swollen and she’s going to need an emergency dental this week. She was given a 2-week antibiotic and pain relief today, and on Wednesday (or potentially later this week/early next week) she is going to need dental x-rays and surgery to remove one of her large front teeth (and 2 of her back molars will need at least a clean, and potentially extractions also). She's a 10 year old rescue Sphynx and means the world to me. My financial situation has changed a lot since I adopted her 4 years ago, and the last year in particular has been pretty ruthless.
I’m looking at an estimated $1,600 bill at a minimum in the best case scenario but it could potentially be up to $3,500+ depending on what the tests show. After the sudden loss of my other 10yo cat Harry just after Christmas last year, I am willing to go into whatever debt I can get approved for at this point… but in all honesty as a self-employed small business owner I am struggling with the quiet season at the moment. I have been approved for $2000 through vetpay, but it's already down to $1,750 after my initial consult and I won't be able to afford any costs above that and paying it back isn't going to be easy. I understand most of us are struggling, but if you are able to contribute at all or even if you’re interested in purchasing any of my crochet patterns or physical products, I’m going to be running a 25% off sale on my Etsy this week and any support would truly help me immensely. Of course, any shares would be greatly appreciated too.
Any amount raised will go towards paying off Trixie's vet bill, and if the estimated/actual costs change I will update the goal. Thank you so much already
