Katelyn Strong - Stage 4 rectal cancer!

Donation protected
Katelyn is a 21 year old college student. She is also a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece and a friend. Three weeks ago she was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.  She is being tested for a genetic gene mutation (Lynch Syndrome) that can significantly alter the course of her treatment. In the past 3 weeks, Kate has undergone a colonoscopy, a CT scan, an MRI, a PET scan, surgery for a mediport placement and numerous doctor appointments.  She is currently racing the clock trying to get help from a fertility specialist. We've been told it will be possible for oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing) for future use, but this has to be done before chemo and radiation start. (Through it all, she still manages to get to her college classes and always has a smile)Kate's treatment schedule is as follows: Chemo running through the mediport 24 hours a day/7 days a week for 6 weeks. At the same time she will have radiation everyday, Monday - Friday for 6 weeks. Then she will rest for 6 weeks. Then she'll have surgery to remove the 8cm tumor (By surgery, hopefully it will be significantly smaller).  After another 4 to 6 weeks of rest she will start 6 more months of chemotherapy. This time it will be a higher dose and she'll have it infused every 2 weeks. (Kate, her dad and stepmom, 5 sisters and 2 brothers)Cancer is expensive! The imaging and surgical centers are requiring her deductibles get paid before they run any tests or provide treatment. The chemo and radiation will have to be paid for. If she can preserve her fertility, that also has to be paid.  There are so many other costs and they are adding up quickly. (Katelyn - 20 yrs old)Many people have asked us how they can help. First and foremost, we need you to pray. Second, would you consider a small monetary contribution? Every little bit adds up and helps. At this point we have exhausted our resources, only for the deductibles to start again January 1st.(Kate, 3 of her sisters and her mother)PLEASE SHARE, EVEN IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO CONTRIBUTE. KATE'S LITTLEST SISTER ALWAYS SAYS, "SHARING IS CARING!"
