Hello friends and beyond,

Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our first round of funding. We are set to shoot in April and have some incredible people working with us to bring ROTTEN to life!

Since our last round of funding, we have developed the script. This means that instead of shooting for one day, we will now be shooting over two.

Extending the shoot means the budget needs to stretch further than originally anticipated and because of that - we’re asking for your help once more! Whether you contribute or spread the word, we would be so grateful for any support.

How many times have we scrolled through Instagram, wishing ourselves away in the hope of being someone else? How many times must we look in the mirror wanting to shrink ourselves until we quite literally disappear?

For centuries, women have been held hostage by the ever-evolving beauty standards set out for us by society. But in an aggressively digital world, the focus and value placed on female self-image feel more potent than ever before. Especially if you’re a young woman on social media.

Rotten explores the agonizing consequence of growing up in a world shaped by toxic beauty ideals - and what happens when this toxicity starts to rot us from the inside out.

This short is a challenge to the quiet shame so many women experience. ROTTEN is a scream out loud.
