Our family is sad to share the passing of our beloved Kuya Jooneil.

Jooneil Rodriguez Palomo
July 16, 1984 – August 24, 2025

Jooneil Palomo, 41, of San Diego, passed away on August 24, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born in the Philippines, Jooneil moved to San Diego at the age of five, where he was raised in a close-knit household that instilled in him the values of resilience, loyalty, and family devotion.

Jooneil was one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet. He found joy in the simple things—riding with the EZ RYDAZ, bringing old cars back to life, spending time with his dog Roscoe, running little errands for random finds, cheering on his 49ers, and binge-watching just about any show.

He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, selflessness, and a sense of calm that made people feel at ease. Jooneil never sought recognition, yet his presence was always felt—quietly lifting others up, offering support without ever asking for anything in return.

What made Jooneil truly special was the way he cherished people. He was devoted to family both near and far, keeping close ties with relatives in the Philippines and caring deeply for the next generation. He built friendships that lasted decades—especially with Happy Daze—his love extending beyond family to anyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jooneil faced many hardships in life, including the loss of his parents, sister, and brother, yet he continued to show remarkable strength and resilience. Despite his own heath battles, he remained a source of perspective and encouragement to those around him.

It’s rare to meet someone like Jooneil. If you were lucky enough to cross paths with him, you know that his presence in your life was nothing short of a blessing.

Jooneil is survived by his extended family, to whom he will always be a beloved brother, son, uncle, and best friend. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love of those fortunate enough to know him.

We are so heartbroken by this loss and want to honor him with the farewell he deserves. Any support, whether through donations, prayers, or sharing, means so much to our family.
