Help Northway Drivers go to Worlds!

Donation protected
In 2013, a group of North Junior High students formed the team Northway Drivers. The Northway Drivers Vex Robotics Team piloted the formation of the Metallic Birds and the Metallic Eagles. This year all three teams attended the State Vex Robotics Championship this past weekend (January 23-24) at the River's Edge Convention Center.

The Northway Drivers which currently consists of North Junior High student, Aaron Zieglmeier (8th Grade), Nate Lampert (North Junior High Graduate, currently in 9th grade at Apollo) and Habtamu Schaller  (6th Grader from South Junior High) made the Quarter Finals Qualification Matches and were consistently in the top 10 rankings out of 60 teams throughout the competition. The Northway Drivers did not advance beyond the Quarter Finals but they did receive the Programming Skills Challenge Finalist Award and the Excellence Award at Middle School level, which in return gave the team an invitation to the Worlds Championship Vex Competition on April 15-18 in Louisville, Kentucky this year.

In the current "World" standings, the Northway Drivers rank #15 of all Middle Schools with their Programming Skills Challenge.

With the diversity of three different schools within the three different team members, the team is registered as a St. Cloud School District 742, Northway Drivers 1535N.

The team has also received a banner for their Excellence Award accomplishment for the Vex Robotics Minnesota State Championship 2015.

As a team, we need help in the funding of our registration fees and travel expenses for the World VEX Championship Competition in Louisville, Kentucky on April 15-18.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

The video is of the announcement of Northway Drivers Team receiving the Award of Excellence for the Middle School Level.  Aaron Zieglmeier went up to accept the award for his team.

I (Aaron's mom, Renee) decided last minute to record the presentation of this award just in case our team, The Northway Drivers were the lucky recipients. To my surprise and to everyone else on our team, they were! It was a very emotional moment for all involved with this team.

This is a great accomplishment for the Northway Drivers Team 1535N as they are only in their second year of competing.

Northway Drivers will be 1 out of 140 teams participating in this competition in April.
