Hello!
A few days ago, I found Honey on the side of the freeway after being hit by a car. She was beyond sweet and despite the pain, got up to greet me and snuggled between my legs. I immediately took her to the vet where they performed X-rays and determined she has a broken femur, a deep lesion on her tarsus, a dislocated tail, and paralysis of her hind end. This is all in addition to the malnutrition and dehydration she was suffering from due to being a stray for some time. She needs urgent orthopedic surgery to fix her femur, antibiotics for the lesion, and probable amputation of her tail. We've been reaching out to rescues to help, but she will likely be incontinent for the rest of her life so they're hesitant to help. She will need extensive care for the remainder of her life which we are more than happy to provide. She's already a member of the family. We really want to keep her, but she desperately needs these surgeries that we simply cannot afford right now! We're also worried that if we take her to a shelter they will put her down rather than fund these pricey surgeries. We've set a pretty high goal because the surgery is going to be expensive and she's going to require a lot of aftercare including a spay, licensing fees, medication, and measures for her incontinence.
Thank you so much for all your help!!
