Kurtis Accident Recovery

Hi everyone, 

Most of you already know that my little brother, Kurtis, had an accident in August 2020 .  He ended up in the hospital with a pretty beat up face - broken nose, gum damage, missing teeth, etc.  Thankfully his shatterproof glasses saved his eyes from any damage!

Kurtis has required some significant and multiple surgeries to fix some of the damage, but we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.  We were first given an estimate of $60,000 and no indication on whether or not this would be covered by insurance.   We received good news this week that the majority of the costs would be covered, but not all, which is why I am reaching out to our family and friends to see if you can help with what is remaining out of pocket for the dental work, time off, and transportation. 

Update:

We are hopeful that his remaining recovery will be as quick and painless as possible.  He has made tremendous progress in the months following the accident but there is still nerve damage causing paralysis in half his mouth. 

As part of this journey and the CT Scans and MRI required after the accident, we have learned that Kurtis has a benign brain tumour, so I ask that you keep my little brother in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to learn and understand more about this diagnosis. 

I'm sure you all already know how important my little brother is to me - he has always been my best friend and I hope we can come together to ease this burden for him.
