On October 25th our lives were changed. My father-in-law was admitted into the hospital with what seemed to be a heart attack. He was medevacked to Modesto and ended up having heart surgery. We were told that he had to have 4 stents put into his heart. When going up to see him, we discovered that he had to be sedated (with intubation), to allow his body to have time to heal. Two days later they transferred him to San Francisco Hospital saying he needed better care then they could give. On the 29th we found out that he needed better medication that Modesto was unable to provide for him. On November 2nd we got good news that he was doing great, and the doctor decided it was time to take him on of sedation and allow him to wake up slowly to let his body start fighting.
On November 8th we got the worse news that we could have received. The doctors were in the process of changing out his machines when he had another heart attack, his body was too weak, and he didn’t make it. We lost an important person in our family.
Kurt was a son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and a very special friend. He was a person that you could count on no matter what. He was a person that you would describe as someone who gave tough love. Kurt didn’t expect anyone to get anything without working for it. Kurt worked all his life to provide for his family. He was the piece that held everyone together. His favorite thing to do was to go camping with his family. He enjoyed relaxing by the fire, and just listening to the sound of nature. When he wasn’t camping, he was always in the mood to go fishing. He was always down for a barbeque, just to be around good people and exchange stories. He was a big family man and wanted to spend time with his family every chance he got, whether it was taking morning walks with his mother or talking to his grandkids while they wait for the school bus. He was a wonderful man that will truly be missed.
Due to it all being so sudden. The family needs some financial support. From having the hospital bills and all the funeral expenses, they are asking for any help that you may be willing to give.
