In memory of Kurt Schultz

On July 22nd, 2023, our dear friend Kurt Schultz passed away. His death was sudden and unexpected and has left a giant hole for many of us. It feels surreal to think of a world without Kurt in it. His smile, his support, his hugs will forever be missed.

 

Kurt suffered a large spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage; his care was immediate and thorough. Despite great efforts, including a helicopter ride to Fargo for expert evaluation, his condition only continued to worsen. He passed painlessly with those who loved him. Even in death, Kurt was a hero, choosing to donate his organs to help others.

 

Kurt's impact on those who knew him was immense, the outpouring of support by those who knew Kurt has been staggering. Numerous incredible stories have surfaced about how he helped people in various ways. From Edina to Europe, the lives touched by Kurt will never be the same.

There has been some confusion about the most effective way to support Becky, Emma, Casey, and Travis during this challenging period. After consulting with friends and family, it was concluded that creating a GoFundMe campaign would be an excellent means for them to receive support.

Dealing with the changes that accompany the loss of a partner, friend, son, and stepfather is never easy. Kurt's dedication to his family included financial support, Becky is doing her best, but many obligations have surfaced that need to be taken care of. We are establishing this GoFundMe initiative to help Becky through this challenging time. Your support is sincerely appreciated. Thank you.
