Kurt Hill of Swartz Creek has been diagnosed with oligosecretory myeloma and is in need of help!
Kurt is a loyal husband and father of 3 wonderful children. He has always been one in the past to help people in need, volunteer for just about any cause, buy a military service person lunch when presented the opportunity and now he finds himself in a situation where he is the one who needs help.
Kurt had what we thought was a herniated disk at L4-5 starting in December. He had Physical therapy but continued to get worse not better. A few MRIs later he was referred to a neurologist. We had to wait 3 weeks to get into the neurologist (and that was 2 weeks earlier than his scheduled appointment ). He sent us to get a thoracic MRI, he read the results while we waited & sent us directly to Genesys ER who then transferred us to Henry Ford Hospital. Kurt had a 10-hour surgery to remove a mass at T2 that was compressing his spinal cord. The T2 area came back positive for oligosecretory myeloma. Kurt is at inpatient rehabilitation now regaining strength to return to independence. His diagnosis means radiation, meds, and in about 4 months a stem cell transplant. His prognosis is very good but the next 6 months are going to be a tough journey for our family.
Kurt is a very hard working and skilled electrician but with his unexpected health problem he is unable to work and his medical bills are growing daily. The need is great and the time is immediate. Kurt has a lot of pride and is a very private person but this situation is calling for us to reach out and ask you to open your hearts and help however you can. Please pray for Kurt and his family through this very difficult time.
We will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on April 1, 2017 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing, Michigan from 4pm - 7pm. 1209 Coutant St. Flushing, MI. 48433 Please come and support this cause if you are able.
Again the need is great and the need is now! Thank you for ready this and agreeing to help a great guy and family.
