On Oct 15, Kuromi got out of the house unexpectedly at night. She was found an hour later on Kalanianaole Hwy barely alive. She was taken to VERC (Veterinary Emergency Referral Center ) on Kapiolani where they determined she had multiple open fractures on both hind legs and her pelvis along with other injuries. She has had 4 blood transfusions so far and still remains at the vet. They operated on 1 leg and are waiting to see when she will be strong enough to do the other. She had a plate and rod
inserted in her leg and she had a ruptured blood vessel repaired. She has been hanging on by a thread and remains in critical
condition.
Most of you know Trish from the years we had various bars. I bought Kuromi for her 7 years ago after Joy, her
former Shitzu, had passed. If you know Trish, her dogs are her
children. So you can imagine the difficulties she is facing at this time. Trish, along with others, have been unemployed from her
main job at the airlines. Our business has been losing money
every month since this pandemic started. So needless to say, this only compounds the financial difficulties that many of us are faced with today.
Kuromi has a long way to go if she gets out of critical condition.
She still needs more surgeries when she gets strong enough. We’ll
try as best as we can to keep helping Kuromi if the prognosis
keeps looking promising. We are not ones to ever ask for help but it’s come to that time. Trish is one my best friends so if you can
help out it would be greatly appreciated. Send some prayers to
Kuromi.
Trish, Kuromi, and myself, thank you all.
