Joanna Miller Memorial Fund

I am not a person who asks for help, but here we are.  Joanna Miller was a 46yr old mother of three. She became ill with what looked like a cold for about a week.  She went to the ER on Wednesday and diagnosed with ear infection and viral illnes, sent home with antibiotic.  She started having stomach issues Wednesday night.  Thursday morning started coughing a little more, but ate breakfast and interacted.  By noon she had taken a turn for the worst and they called 911 at 1pm.  She was intubated by 200.  She battled to stay alive the rest of the night after she was life flighted to Metro Hospital.
She was the primary source of income in her household, often working 70-80 hours a week to make ends meet.  I have watched her battle life every step of the way, never giving up and everytime she had a set back, she got up, dusted herself off, and started again.  This was evident  the last 12hours where she battled to stay with her children.    She never wanted to be that person who sat on the couch all day and let others pay her way.  Yet everytime she advanced life with more hours or promotion, they would lose food stamps or insurance or something to knock them down again. i admired her for that everyday of her life!!!!
The insurance  on her life non-exsistant, the one my parents had on her was stolen a long time ago and one was never obtained to replace it.  We need help to have something for people to come pay respect and for her daughter that was stuck in Florida helpless and her brother far away as this tragedy unfolded to come and say goodbye.  Nothing big just simple.  We decided it would be best to bury her with my parents, one to save money and her wish was always to be close to them.  I know my mother will be heart filled with that decision.  My father expressed the fact that he would be next to his oldest and youngest and anyone who knows him, he rarely has an opnion about anything.
Here is the flip side  her family will lose there house, there is no question of this it is a fact, without Joanna they will not be able to pay their rent.  We need to relocate them immediately.  The decision is to try and get them in section 8 in Jefferson, closer to immediate family so that we can help fill the void my sister will leave in his life.  They have no money of any kind and often struggled to make it pay check to pay check
I get it we all struggle, everyone of us in some way, but i also know there is many of my family and friends who will ask how can they help.  In stead of buying flowers or other things that will not last, this would be a way to help her kids directly in a big and necessary way.  my family, my father, and all of us will start helping them immediately, but taking on an additional three people is not an easy task no matter who you are or even how much you make.  I thank each and everyone of you, even if you can not help and only have well wishes. Our hearts are broken and will take time to heal.
