Hello, our names are Dion & Shamela Sternberg, and we serve as the Parent Rep Coordinators at Sunrise and Temple Marion.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of one of our cherished students, Kuol Thuong, who left us on May 27th after bravely facing ongoing health challenges. Kuol was a beloved Grade 8 student at Temple Marion Middle School, having begun his educational journey with us at Sunrise Marion. Throughout his years here, Kuol touched the lives of many with his resilience, warmth, and gentle spirit.

Kuol’s journey was not easy—he faced significant health difficulties and had been wheelchair-bound for the past several years. Despite these challenges, he remained a much-loved member of our school community.

At this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Kuol’s family, who are drawing strength from their church, friends, and loved ones. While the family has requested privacy as they grieve, they have also expressed a need for support with funeral expenses.
