FLINTA* means Frauen (german for women), Lesbian, Intersex, Non binary, Transgender, & Agender. Our event is for FLINTA* people only.

Why are we hosting a FLINTA* only juggling convention?

A group of FLINTA* jugglerns came together last year for the experiment of organizing a FLINTA* only juggling convention. The feedback of the participants was amazing so our team feels that the juggling community could benefit from having more events like this. So we decided to give it another round!

The juggling community is male dominant, and many times people that don’t identify as cis-male wish to be in spaces with people more like them. Cis-men tend to receive more privileges than others, and we want to see those privileges shared with the many deserving FLINTA* people in the community. Our team believes that this event may serve as a necessity for many folks who want to connect to other jugglers in a safe space, where they are seen and celebrated.

The event is meant to be like any other juggling convention! Workshops, performances, skill sharing, creating lifelong friendships, and so on and so forth. We are a small team with limited resources, so although the event will be volunteer run and pretty low key compared to larger events, we still hope to offer a lot and provide as much as we can to our community. This is just the beginning, and it’s all an experiment! We hope to connect and strengthen FLINTA* people in the juggling world. We will take notes during and after the event on what works / doesn’t work, and we will collect feedback from attendees. With this information we will do what we can to improve moving forward.
