Kunst in de jungle!

Heey Allemaal,

Ik ben Job Griffijn en in samenwerking met stichting Artceb ben ik bezig met een ontzettend cool plan.

Artceb heeft mij uitgenodigd om in het Surinaamse dorp Botopasi, dat in het Surinaamse regenwoud ligt,

Kunst te gaan maken met en voor de inheemse bevolking.

In een dorp midden in het regenwoud is er moeilijke toegankelijkheid tot kunst en daarom willen we dat graag naar de mensen brengen. Zodat ze weten dat we ze zien en dat ze gehoord worden.

Ik zal een sculptuur maken in de natuur bij hun dorp, dat aanspraak doet op de inheemse cultuur door lokale handwerk technieken en materialen te gebruiken en ook een link maakt naar klimaat politiek. waar zij zonder inspraak midden in staan. Ik ga 2 maanden met hen in de jungle wonen om van hen te leren en samen met hen dit sculptuur te maken.

Daarna zal ik als ik terug kom in de vorm lecture performances het verhaal van Botopasi delen met de mensen in Nederland om zo een brug te slaan tussen deze werelden.

Om dit te realiseren heb ik jou hulp nodig. Elke kleine bijdrage helpt om dit project te financieren.

Hi everybody,

My name is Job Griffijn and together with Artceb foundation I am planning to do a very exciting project.

Artceb invited me to come to the village Botopasi,

what is located in the middle of the Suriname Jungle. To make art with and for the the inhabitants of the forest.

In a village that is located in the middle of the rainforest there is litlle to no acces to art and that is why we want to go bring it to them. So they knew they are being seen and heard.

I will make a sculpture in de nature of the village, wich is linked to the indigenous culture by working with local materials and handwork technics, while on the same time making a link to the climate politics what they are in the middle of without any say. I will live with them for two months in the village to learn from them and make art together. afterwards wgen I come back I will tell their stories in lecture performances, to inhence the cultural exchange and make a bridge between these different worlds.
