Update: Legal Support Fund

Yesterday, I met with an attorney regarding a recent cease-and-desist notice connected to my public-awareness work. Based on legal advice and the expected cost of addressing ongoing legal matters, I have updated this fundraiser goal to $25,000 to help cover attorney fees and related legal expenses.

Over the past several weeks, I have also been consulting with attorneys in both the United States and India regarding legal matters connected with past online publications and social-media activity.

I have now engaged legal counsel in India to review the status of a related matter, obtain and review official records, and advise me on the appropriate next steps.

Because these matters are still pending, I am not discussing specific allegations, individuals, organizations, documents, investigations, or the merits of any case publicly at this time.

Funds raised will help with:

Attorney consultations and representation

Legal correspondence and document review

Obtaining and reviewing official case records

Preservation and organization of records and evidence

Related professional and legal expenses
