Kuma Strong
Donation protected
Kuma Ray-Anna Santos Sablan Quintanilla fought a hard fight for 15 years. She was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy when she was 5 years-old, this condition caused her heart muscles to grow thick. Many Doctors have told her and her family she wouldn't be able to see her teen years. By the age of 15 she got a call from Seattle Children's Hospital and through a miracle a heart was donated to her.
Since her transplant surgery on April 17, 2015 she went through multiple heart rejections, in and out of hospitals, but through it all she always stood strong with a smile on her face and never failed to make everyone around her laugh.
This past April she celebrated two important events; her 4 year Anniversary of her heart transplant and turning 20 years old. Kuma and her Better Half, Michael Quintanilla celebrated news of their Pregnancy on May 26, 2019. Becoming a Mother was one of the things she wanted the most, second to being married.
Wednesday, May 29, 2019 Michael took Kuma to St. Joseph's Hospital because she was in a lot of pain. After the doctors conducted many tests; C.A.T. scan for her head, blood and urine tests (but no tests on her heart), she was still discharged knowing she was still ill for unknown reasons.
The next night, Michael and Kuma began to get ready for bed. Minutes later, she sat up complaining of her body aching and having a difficult time breathing. She then began to seize up and gasp for air. Paramedics came, did chest compressions then brought her to St. Joseph's Hospital. Michael followed after them and when he arrived he was greeted by the Chaplin with Kuma's Mom, Anna. During this time they were also told that the nurses and EMTs were continuing chest compressions in a separate room. Past midnight, the next morning, a nurse came to Michael and Anna to tell them of Kuma's passing.
Kuma Ray-Anna Santos Sablan Quintanilla had a tough and long, but Amazingly Blessed Journey through Surgeries, Rejections and even the Loss of her own Father 2 years ago. Now she is in Heaven with her Father, David, and her Precious Child.
Through this difficult time; the Funds from this Campaign will help support and provide the necessary needs for her Spouse Michael and Kuma’s Family to be able to have a Memorial and help pay for her Cremation.
If you have any Special Memories you'd like to share or give condolences feel free to send them to Michael Quintanilla and Anna Reoligio via Facebook Messenger.
