Fred is a devoted brother, father, and grandfather— and being “Papa” is his greatest joy. For 38 years, he worked as a dedicated mechanic, always providing for his family through his hard work and determination. Anyone who knows Fred knows he’s a selfless man who would help anyone without hesitation.
After months of struggling since December, Fred learned in April that his right lung was 70% filled with pneumonia. This severe lung damage has caused him to be dependent on oxygen 24 hours a day and abruptly end his working career. Doctors have even discussed the possibility of him needing to go to Shands for a lung transplant. This journey has been more than a physical fight. It has been emotionally, mentally and financially exhausting. My father has endured long hospital stays, battled depression, and missed countless cherished moments with his wife, children, and grandchildren. One of the hardest losses for him has been sitting on the sidelines, unable to watch his grandson’s baseball games — something that always brought him so much joy.
In the past eight months, Fred has been hospitalized three times; each has been over a week-long stay. His wife, his constant source of love and strength, has missed work to be by his side, holding his hand through the hardest days.
With the support of friends, family, colleagues, and our community, we are hoping to raise enough donations to help with current medical bills, rehabilitation, future medical expenses, and — most importantly — getting his own oxygen machine.
Fred has spent his life giving to others. Now we have the chance to give back and help him breathe easier, heal, and return to the moments he loves most with his family.
Every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated by Fred and our family. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser is also a huge help.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you
