Help Bailey heal!

Hi! We're Tess and Veronica and we created this GoFundMe page for Bailey!

In 2021, Bailey was diagnosed with MALS. MALS is an anatomical anomaly that occurs when the diaphragm is located too low on the body. Arteries and nerves become compressed which then causes restriction of blood flow to abdominal organs. This causes inflammation, nerve, and potential organ damage. MALS it is extremely rare.

Bailey has been dealing with this her whole life. Ever since she was little, her mom would take her to multiple, different doctors, because she would be crying from her stomach pain.

Before Bailey got her MALS diagnosis, she went through many awful medical issues dealing with throwing up everyday, loosing hair, passing out from the pain, and to top it all off, doctors kept misdiagnosing her. She was told by multiple doctors that she had an eating disorder or that it was all in her head. The last two years have been filled with medical testing, expensive medications and three surgeries. Her most recent surgery has been extremely hard on her, dealing with the pain it has caused. She will be spending the rest of the month in Connecticut.

Bailey is the type of person who would go out of her way for anyone who needs it, and she truly needs us right now! Anything you are able to donate will go directly to her medical bills and will help her get back on her feet.

You can read about Bailey's recent surgery below.

5/5/22 "This morning I had my open revision MALS surgery in Connecticut. They removed the tendon that grew back from my failed surgery last year, the affected nerves (he said my nerves were an absolute mess), and shaved the back of my diaphragm that was too low and pressing on my nerve bundles. It has been extremely intense and I will be in the hospital for hopefully only another 5-7 days and then required to stay in the state for the few weeks after that.

The treatment I have received so far by Dr. HSU and the staff at Stamford hospital has been amazing. Very thankful for the opportunity to be treated by such caring and empathetic people. Feels good to finally have people that listen and genuinely want to help.

I will be sharing some updates along the way to spread awareness of rare vascular compressions in hopes that maybe someone will hear my story and find their own diagnosis"

5/12/22 "It’s officially been a week since surgery and things are still extremely intense. I've only taken bites of each meal in two days and I can barely get out of bed. My team is confused why my pain meds aren’t working like they should as it’s the same regime as all other MALS post ops fingers crossed they find out why or find meds that will do a better job for me

If you have any movie or tv show recommendations please let me know"
