Everyone, I would like for you to meet Charlie.

I first met Charlie 8 years ago at the cat colony I currently care for in my development. He was instantly charming and immediately had a special place in my heart, as he is way too friendly to be feral. I decided that Charlie deserved a home of his own, and to be loved not living on the streets which sadly, he and the others were.

I set forth making it a priority to find him his furever family. With many attempts, came with quite a few broken promises that consisted of no shows, I decided that Charlie DID find his furever home. With me!

Charlie quickly adapted to his new siblings and was living his best life.

I don't know what his life was before he implanted himself in the colony, but at some point, someone thought he was a nuisance and shot his face full of buckshot. That was discovered during his first dental after he became a member of my family.  I look at him and wonder how anyone could do that to an animal. Since then, I had promised him that I would always take care of him and he would be safe.

This happiness turned around to a pet owners worst nightmare. At some point in September of this year, Charlie’s behavior had changed. He went from being a purr machine and having a healthy appetite to withdrawn, and started to hide and seemed to get increasingly angry when approached. I was in and out of vets' offices numerous times with diagnoses ranging from constipation, bad teeth and ear infections to "I don't see that your cat is in any kind of pain." I was beside myself because I knew my boy and this wasn't him. After discussions with my vet, it was decided to do a CT scan. On November 1st the Results came in and my vet called. Charlie had a middle ear infection in his left ear, and an outer infection in his right ear. Then came the worst news any pet owner dreads to hear. Cancer.  Charlie has an intracranial meningioma aka a brain tumor. Having lost my mother in February 2023 after a battle with dementia and my younger sister to stage 4 brain cancer 4 months later,  I found myself unable to catch my breath, but quickly gathered myself together. I had to for him. My vet referred me to a place for a neurologic consultation.

After doing some research, I discovered that this type of tumor is treatable. The neurologist recommended Radiation therapy as opposed to surgery given the tumor's location. He referred me to an oncologist and an appointment is currently scheduled.

I promised to take care of Charlie and I have to fight this fight for him. After all, He is worth fighting for!

Since all the prior veterinarian visits were costly from X -rays, bloodwork, urine samples, CT scan, I am unable to pay for his treatment as I exhausted my savings.  I am desperate to raise the money for his treatment he needs.

That is what I am trying and hoping to do now, for the sake of a cat that found his way to my heart. He was there when I lost my job. He was there when I lost my mom. He was there when I lost my sister and best friend. It's my turn to be there for him.

I am here fighting for him, and wished I could pay for the treatments, but I need help.

Any amount received is greatly appreciated with the utmost gratitude.

Updates will be provided as I received them from the Oncologist.

Please help me save Charlie.

Thank you❤️
