Mike's Cancer Fundraiser

For those of you that know my dad Mike here is an update as of this week.

My dad has been completing chemotherapy and infusions and has one more infusion to go. It is becoming harder and harder for him with each infusion. His blood test results had higher levels and so they had ordered a CT scan a few weeks ago. They could not see anything on the CT scan and were waiting for his next round of blood test results to see how to proceed. He had his next round this past Monday and the blood test results were substantially higher and they have now ordered another PET scan as they do believe the cancer has come back. He still can not work and is now facing multiple very hard life decisions. The only real option for him financially is to sell his home and move to Arkansas where his uncles and sister live as the cost of living is much lower there. He can not afford to live in California anymore and as much as I wish he could move to the Seattle area to be closer to me and his grandkids it is just not an option financially.  He has sold everything he can to pay for his mortgage and bills on a monthly basis. We will have his PET scan results early next week and will know more then. Last May my dad was diagnosed with cancer. He just finished his first round of radiation and chemotherapy and is now waiting to find out if the cancer has shrunk enough to operate. He was recently told that he will no longer have a job due to his facility closing on January 1st and has no income and with an upcoming surgery with 4 more months of chemotherapy after to say he is in a world of hurt is an understatement. My dad is a veteran (coast guard) and the VA will not even help with his medications. I am asking for help so for one he can pay for medical bills that are not being covered under the veterans association and two so he can make his mortgage payment. Any amount helps and if you cant afford to donate prayers are greatly appreciated as well. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This journey has been very rough and I would like to try to ease some of the financial burden cancer has created for him.
