Hi all, I’ve created this gofundme to raise money for my dear friend Tamara, who is at risk of having her beautiful dog, a much loved family member, ripped away from her after 2 years of ownership.

2 years ago a friend and breeder offered an 8 month old puppy to Tamy as a “Christmas gift” confirming she was 100% Tamara’s as a pet, on the condition that they would split the cost and profit of breeding the dog down the track. A simple 50/50 agreement was made in writing. Nothing the puppy was not bred by, but acquired by the breeder, (along with 3 other dogs) as a result of a previous transaction to recover a debt from a 3rd party. At the time this breeder made efforts to get rid of the dogs over social media urgently as she didn’t want them in her care. When Tamy was given the puppy, she was in poor health and required rehabilitative treatment.

7 months of love later, the breeder sent a formal contract to Tamara which contained terms totally different to the initial agreement and placed Tamara at a severe financial disadvantage. Tamara engaged a lawyer to draft a contract reflective of their original terms, the breeder refused.

In the meantime the dog had come on heat and Tamara respected the wishes of the breeder to inseminate, hoping it would all be resolved amicably.

Tamara stayed true to the original contract, providing all costs and care for the puppies, and after the arrival of the puppies, the breeder demanded the dog and the puppies back. Fearing she would not see her dog, or the significant financial investment she had made in the puppies returned to her as per their agreement, Tamara refused to hand them over, requesting continuously that they simply adhere to the initial agreement, working together to sell the pups and splitting the profits.

At this point the breeder made several public posts claiming Tamara had STOLEN the dog, she claimed to her following that Tamara had been employed simply to assist with the puppies as a carer, which was a lie.

The breeder filed for QCAT, not to get the dog but to get $25,000 out of Tamara.

Tamara was subjected to bullying, harassment and abuse. The breeder listed the dog as stolen with QPOL, and Tamara started getting dozens of phone calls from a police officer, only at night, claiming to want to mediate the situation, but clearly stating Tamara he believed Tamy was a thief, threatening her in writing to revoke her visa status and that she would be arrested and deported. Absolutely disgusting. Somebody tried to break into Tamy’s house also.

Tamy’s mental and physical health deteriorated during this time, constantly living in fear.

When the puppies were ready to be registered by the breeder for sale, the breeder refused to adhere to their agreement, refusing registration papers and requiring Tamy to house and feed 7 giant XL bully dogs for months until QCAT, an expense completely unrealistic for a student, who had already been so deeply out of pocket at this stage.

Tamy was forced to virtually give away the puppies, meaning there was not even enough to recover 1/4 of the money she had invested in caretaking those puppies to 8 weeks.

Essentially she’s been completely manipulated and the breeder, from what I have witnessed myself, has tried to take financial advantage of Tamy, hoping she would get away with full profit, and the dog after this poor beautiful person just financed the entire lot on her own.

I have watched Tamara being publicly defamed, bullied, harassed and manipulated.

I have watched her lose her right to QCAT appeal due to the lawyer’s negligence in filing appropriate paperwork, essentially losing what money she had left trying to save her dog.

I have tried to be her voice in situations where she may be misunderstood due to her language barrier.

I have sat in a police station, where she was summoned to prove she did not steal the dog, that she was not a criminal, after a police officer came to her house and said to her “the dog is doing either way” before she’s even had a chance to have her EVIDENCE heard in court as should have been the process in QCAT, but they never even looked.

After suffering severe financial distress due to the position she has been placed in, and as Tamy is a student, and now faces further costs to have this matter heard outside of QCAT due to the lawyer she trusted failing to adequately follow QCAT procedure, I want to try to lighten the load for her and hopefully raise enough to cover the imminent costs for proper representation.

This is injustice, it is not fair and it is not right.

Tamy wouldn’t ever ask for help herself, she’s such a proud and independent person.. but she needs help, this is her last chance.

Please help, any way you can and let’s get justice for Tamara...
