Rufus needs our help

A couple days ago Rufus had a small fall. Shortly after his behavior became bizarre. We decided to take him to Blue Pearl emergency vet clinic because it was after hours and only the emergency clinics were open. They basically sent Rufus home without much urgency. They did say they thought they detected a mass with a sonogram,  and to get it checked out. Again, zero urgency. We took him back home and things took a turn for the worse. We had a hunch something insidious was going on and I contacted Sierra Michal from Broadway Vet in Hewlett, NY. Mind you, she was away on a ski trip and FaceTimed me immediately. She asked to see his gums which were grossly pail and said he needed immediate medical attention. Second trip to Blue Pearl Rufus was misdiagnosed and sent home.  Second visit cost 222.85. Rufus is a fighter and held on. We were lucky he made it till Monday morning. First thing we brought him to Broadway Veterinary Care where with their suspicion, a Splenic mass was confirmed from an ultrasound. He had also been bleeding internally for 2 days now. It was determined he needed an emergency blood transfusion and a very grueling invasive surgery for such a small little boy. The total cost  from surgery and all 3 vets was 9,426 dollars. This is not only for Rufus, this is to help support who we all know to be the greatest friend in the world to so many, and that is Erika Clark. When has she not been there for you, your children, your families? This woman has never asked for help in her life and never will. I know you all out there that know Rufus and know Erika, know that no other person deserves this help right now more than her. Let’s show how much she means to us and how Rufus deserves a second chance at life.
