KU Super Fan Needs Your Help!

(January 16, 2017)  I started to feel a sharp pain in my chest while working out at the gym.  Turns out I was having a heart attack! My friends Derek (KU Roommate) and Vicky (Nurse) rushed me to Chandler Regional hospital where it was quickly determined that I had full blockage in my left main artery. The blockage was cleared and stents were placed in my heart. The purpose of this fund is to help me with my medical bills.

Thanks to modern medicine I was out of surgery less than two hours after the attack started. I will forever recall the first big breath I took when I awoke from the surgery, it was so surreal. I am having a second operation on Feb. 9 to clear another artery that is partially blocked.

I am now fully committed to living a heart healthy lifestyle and I will try to help educate as many people as I can about heart disease and preventive measures that need to be taken. I had two check-ups over the last 12 months, and while I was on meds for hypertension and high cholesterol for the last two years, my numbers were OK and my last EKG test was fine. But without a stress test, my doctor could not really identify any blockages. If you are in any doubt, I recommend asking your doctor about a stress test. It just might save your life.

Big thanks to my Ohio, California, Kansas, Phoenix and European familes for their love and support. Plus, a Rock Chalk Shoutout to my Jayhawk family for all your thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you out here in Phoenix for the Final Four.
