Jazzy's Journey
Donation protected
My name is Rick Perez. My amazing niece, Jazmyn, suffers from Scoliosis, a curvature of the spine. Her condition is severe and requires surgery.
Jazmyn is a 16-year-old junior in high school who dreams of becoming a teacher one day. I’ve watched her grow from a cute little girl with great energy and curiosity to an amazing young woman -so bright, intelligent, and full of life. My family just wants Jazzy to have the opportunity to live a normal life.
Jazmyn’s surgery is upwards of $200,000 of which only a small percentage (less than $5,000) will be covered by insurance. Fortunately, my brother Benjie (Jazmyn’s father) and Marcy (Jazmyn’s mother) has made it their mission to raise this money by the generosity of so many caring and wonderful people. Inclusive of Benjie selling his car and getting a bank loan, my brother has been able to raise a percentage of that amount. $150,000 is the balance left for the surgery which doesn’t include travel, lodging, and other expenses, including months of recovery and intense physical therapy.
My family and I have built this Go Fund Me page to help ensure Jazzy gets this surgery because if she doesn’t, the risk of her condition leading to heart damage, a life of extreme pain or the inability to walk is too high. We also ask for your prayers of healing for Jazmyn.
We are appealing to the generosity and love of our friends and family and the kindness of strangers who would like to help an amazing teenager live a life without pain.
The Perez and Cruz family is aiming for the goal of $150,000 to cover the remaining balance of the surgery and any peripheral expenses. Any donation you are able to make toward this cause is greatly appreciated. There are no words to express the gratitude we feel in our hearts for your generosity, except to say Thank you and God bless you all!
Most Sincerely,
Rick Perez
