Bring Tristan home
UPDATE from Julie : I pulled another all nighter in his hospital room last night (you’re not allowed to leave).
Wifi at hotel down cause a squirrel ate threw a power cord.
No wifi at hospital at all. Communication next to impossible.
Fever down (but i was medicating him with Tylenol from my purse). Concerns for meningitis which is a real possibilty with the 2 surgeries he’s had.
They wanted to switch him to oral antibiotics days ago but i refused. Had them call the doctor and keep him on antibiotics.
On Keppra now, concern for seizures.
Getting so many calls caused i’ve reached out to every evacuation service there is, The U.S. Embassy, our P.A. Senators, HUP has been great and i’m in constant contact with a receiving physician there who is awesome, on phone with International SOS, BC/BS, Trinity Health/HR, etc, etc.
No running water in bathroom at all yesterday. No sink water, no shower water, toilets don’t flush. No paper towels or washclothes. I’m brushing my teeth there with bottled water and that’s also what i use to wash my hands.
Dogs in hospital hallways to get out of sun. Their hospital “courtyard” is where they throw their trash. Was going to take a pic to shows you guys but there are cameras everywhere here and signs with a picture of a phone and a red line through it. Didn’t want to jeopardize Tristan’s discharge by being caught on camera filming filthy conditions.
No bed baths, no nothing. I sleep on a bench in his room.
They are Still holding his passport. Will not return it until he is discharged and bill is paid in full. Embassy not happy about that cause passports are “property of the U.S. government”.
Was sitting in a stairwell near his room talking to the doc at Penn last night because I didn’t want to disturb Tristan and it overlooks another small building that’s attached and there were all these cats on the roof but …..they were rats.
Tristan has not been on any O2, monitors, or running I.V. fluids since he left the ICU days ago. Can’t drink the water here….have to keep bringing cases in. It’s usually just me there cause Chris has to work all night (11-hour time change). Still withholding all medical records on Tristan…..what i sent you is all that i have. Stinking hot here and they shut down the a/c several hours a day, everyday. You should see the view from his room…..was going to take a pic but there are cameras there……metal pieces, plastic water bottles, etc.
People laying in hallways crying, screaming, coughing. Kids running up and down the halls.
When they showed me the pic of his helmet broken into 2 pieces, I almost fainted. His friends that were with him said he laid there, completely unconscious on the road for 30 minutes. I know this is carastrophic but it’s amazing he is even still here.
Embassy said if they refuse to give passport at discharge to call them right away & i have their “emergency on call”
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Tristan Jones was involved in a serious accident overseas in Thailand. He had been over there for a month doing one of the things that he loved, Muay Thai. Tristan has been training for several years but wanted to train professionally in Thailand.
On that night, he had rented a scooter and had a horrific accident. We had been tracking his location and noted that he was at a hospital and stopped responding to our texts. We received the devastating news that Tristan was involved in an accident and was rushed to the hospital. We were told that he lost consciousness due to a brain bleed. He had to be intubated, placed on a ventilator and suffered seizures. He has several facial and skull fractures and was placed into a medically induced coma.
Tristan‘s parents, Julie and Chris Jones, booked an emergency flight to Thailand. It was an excruciating 36 hour to see their son on the other side of the globe.
Tristan had to have part of his frontal lobe of his brain removed, and a plate put in his head. In addition, he suffered many facial fractures, including fracture to his eye orbit in three different places, his nose, and his cheek bone. He may have retinal damage to his eye from the impact. He is now awake and breathing on his own, but still thousands of miles away and not receiving proper medical care. The conditions Tristan is in at the hospital are shocking. Tristan needs immediate medical care back home before his condition worsens.
Those who know and love Tristan understand how outgoing and adventurous he is. His outgoing personality makes it easy for him to make connections with people from around the world. He succeeds in almost everything he does and continues to push himself further. His sister, Lindsay, is trying to help organize his return and relieve the burden on her parents. His loving dog, Max, is always by his side and they are missing each other greatly.
We ask you to help us in any way to get Tristan back home safely. He is loved so much, and we just want him home.
