Lunas Story
Hi everyone,
My name is Mandy, Ethan's aunty, and I’m raising funds for his beloved dog, Luna, who was tragically hit by a car early last week in Wythenshawe. It was one of the scariest moments of our lives, and we’re so grateful that she’s still with us, but she now needs a major hip operation to walk and live pain-free again.
What Happened
Whilst on her evening walk with Ethan, Luna got spooked, we think by leaves blowing in the street! ( yep! that's how much of a "puddy cat" she is!) she then accidentally ran into the road where a car hit her. She was rushed to the vet, where we found out she has a fractured hip and needs urgent surgery to repair it. Without this operation, Luna will be in constant pain, may never regain full mobility, and it will shorten her life expectancy.
Why We Need Help
The total cost of Luna’s operation, treatment, and follow-up care is around £5,000.
We’ve managed to put together £2,000 ourselves, but we still need to raise £3,000 to cover the rest of her vet bills.
Every single donation, even £1 truly makes a difference. Your kindness can help give Luna the chance to run, play, and live happily again.
Our Family
This has been heartbreaking for all of us, especially Ethan, who absolutely adores Luna. And as you may know, his mum Pauline has worked tirelessly in local schools for years. She has supported her three children as a single parent since their beloved dad David passed away far too soon, just over ten years ago. Pauline bought Luna as a gift for Ethan to encourage him to be active and give him someone to love and care for all of his own. They’ve grown up together over the last 18 months, and seeing his best friend in pain has devastated him. The whole family is struggling, but we’re trying to stay strong and hopeful.
Luna is a very lovable, playfully pup. Her favourite thing to do is explore the outdoors with Ethan. He is her human, and wherever Ethan goes, Luna goes to. The sea, caves , climbing rocks, or trees; she is right there behind him. Our hope is that she can still live her life to the fullest doing what she loves with the person she loves most
