I've always been a hard worker. I started my first job at age 13 at the Dairy Queen across from the County Jail on Guadalupe St.  Child labor laws weren't as stringent 48 years ago.

I held jobs continuously until 2018 when a bacterial infection ate away my right pelvis resulting in losing my hip and the ability to walk. It knocked me right out of the work force and my ability to fend for myself.

I ended up having 5 hip operations in 2019 all unsuccessful all infectious. I was on constant antibiotics from March through October.  My hands started becoming numb and an MRI showed problems with my spine and yet another surgery was necessary. It was successful but my hands are still numb. Doctor says it may take a year to regain full feeling.

In the meantime, I'm still unable to walk or work, and drowning in medical bills. I pick each month which Bill's to pay as the disability benefits I receive barely cover my rent.

I'm asking today for my community's help. Financial help to dig myself out of my pile of bills as I wait for my body to heal for another surgery to enable me to walk. If you can find it in your heart to donate please do. Share this page. This amount may seem like a lot but it's enough to help me get by. Thank you.
