Alli's Mission Trip to Israel

Hi, I am Alli Carnes! I am a junior (but first year student) at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. So far, my first semester here at Liberty has been completely life changing. God has taken my heart and broken it, only to conform it to look more like His. I am so thankful for that. As a result, He has really given me a heart for missions, especially overseas. After months of prayer and seeking the Lord's will, I felt God calling me to Israel. I continued to pray and ask the Lord to shut doors if He did not want me to do this. I applied through a program here at Liberty called LU Send; after a long application and interview, I got accepted! This means that on March 10-20, 2016, I will be going to Israel (YAY!).
In Israel, I will walk in the footsteps of Jesus as I explore the ancient world of the Bible while also discovering what life is like in the modern state of Israel. I will visit key biblical cities like Bethlehem, Capernaum, Galilee, Nazareth & Jerusalem and see some of most important sites in Scripture, like the Dead Sea, Jordan River, the Via Dolorosa, Garden of Gethsemane, and the Garden Tomb of Jesus. Throughout this experience I will also engage in discussions about Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations, encounter survivors of the Holocaust, and learn more about what life is like for the diverse populations of present-day Israel. I will serve among refugee populations, do community outreach to Arabs, participate in hands-on medical relief work, spend time with the physically and mentally challenged children of the country, or engage locals while you work alongside them in sustainable & urban gardening efforts.
However, I have to pay and/or raise a projected amount of $3,600. Note: I put $4,000 as the goal because if you have ever been on an overseas trip before, you know it always ends up being more. This is a large amount, but I am so at peace. God always has and will continue to provide for anyone that is called according to His purpose.
