I am a veterinarian in Minnesota and am hoping to raise enough money for one of my patients to get cataracts surgery. Buddy is a 9 year old Chihuahua mix that was diagnosed with diabetes 1.5 years ago. Unfortunately his bilateral cataracts came on very quickly after diagnosis and he has been blind ever since.

Buddy has been doing well since his diabetes diagnosis! His glucose numbers are right where we want them and he is a happy little guy. However, since he is totally blind, he has a hard time getting around and his owner is concerned about his quality of life.

Buddy's dad lost his wife about 2 years ago and Buddy is all he has left of her. He promised her he would take good care of her dog and has done a great job in fulfilling his promise thus far. However, he cannot afford the bilateral cataracts surgery that would improve Buddy's quality of life. He is a veteran and cancer survivor who is dealing with his own medical bills while trying to do his best for Buddy.
