KT Lamond Dental Surgery

KT Lamond is one of my dearest pals and I have her permission to create this GFM.

KT is the first person to jump in and help other folks - whether it is showing up to lend a hand, starting and sharing fundraisers through her connection to the music community, or standing up as an active ally. KT and I have connected over being helpers, and how being one makes it hard to ask for help, and more so, receive help. So here I am, asking on her behalf.

KT needs some expensive dental work that requires a prosthodontist - a specialist that treats complex dental/facial cases. You may have noticed that she has two adorable teensy baby teeth in her lower mandible but these need to GO. Yeet the teeth! I want to be clear that this isn't a cosmetic procedure but a necessary one for dental/oral and overall health.

KT has to go to an oral surgeon to have 2 teeth extracted and have a post implanted. Then the prosthodontist will fit her with a temporary crown which will be worn for 4 months while healing. Because the space between her teeth is so narrow, they can only fit one implant. That will require them to shave down the 2 neighbour teeth and crown them as well. This is the most economical procedure which will give her 3 bottom teeth!! Watch out town, 3-tooth kt will be on the prowl!

After her last appointment, a pre-determination for a treatment plan was created. The total is $9491 for this procedure and unfortunately, none of this is covered for KT.

KT lives alone and supports herself. We love independence, but in this case, we need some community care/mutual aid. The $9491 is so far out of reach for someone supporting themselves in this economy.
