Emily is a beautiful, sweet young woman who was born with a  condition known as Sturge-Weber Syndrome (SWS). Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by the association of a facial birthmark called a port-wine stain, neurological abnormalities, and eye abnormalities such as glaucoma. Emily suffers with debilitating seizures that medication can no longer control and will be undergoing surgery on May 7 to remove a portion of her brain.

In order to be there for Emily following her surgery, her mother, who is single, will need to take time off work without pay for a portion of the time. In addition, medical bills and other associated costs are taxing the family's limited budget. Help is urgently needed.
