It is with great sadness that I share with you that our colleague Justin Taylor unexpectedly passed away at the weekend.
Justin was a long-term veteran in our Melbourne Technical Support organization having joined the team during VeriSign days almost 15 years ago where he started on the night shift supporting GeoTrust customers. During his time with us as a Senior Software Engineer, he was a critical member of the EME team making a significant contribution and impact on MPKI escalations and customer operations in APJ. Justin worked to ensure everyone could achieve a positive outcome and played a key role in helping cross functional teams in Product and Engineering address and resolve complex issues.
From a personal perspective, Justin was a big believer in the Learn and Teach approach to sharing knowledge. Justin was an avid Taekwondo learner having achieved a Black Belt (second dan) while also sharing his knowledge as a Taekwondo teacher for younger students. Justin liked to push himself to do more and participated in several Tough Mudder challenges as well as completing many marathons for charities in his local community. A positive and impactful member of our team and his wider community who will be greatly missed.
We are in contact with Justin’s mum Ann and his family as we support them through this difficult and heartbreaking time. For our colleagues based in Melbourne, we will share any information about services and memorials as they become available. We have grief counselling support available to Justin’s team and the wider Melbourne site and encourage our colleagues to utilize the People team for help and support. In addition, to support Justin’s family during this time, DigiCert has established a Go Fund Me page which we will leave open until February 11 for those who would like to donate to his family.
Please join me in extending your condolences to Justin’s family and please reach out to any member of the People team if you need support during this difficult time.
