On Monday morning, Wendy started experiencing symptoms resembling a heart attack. She was then taken to urgent care and diagnosed with having a heart attack and was taken by ambulance to Corvallis hospital, where she was rushed into emergency surgery to correct a 100% blocked valve, 5 stints were place during surgery. When Wendy had woken up from surgery, she was experiencing extreme pain. This extreme pain lasted all night long and onto the next day, doctors gave her an abundance amount of pain management medication that did not mask the extreme amount of pain she was having. after several complaints She was taken back for exploratory imaging to find out what was going on with her and why she was having pain. while in imaging, they had found out she was creating blood clots in the very stents that were just placed. During this exploratory surgery Wendy bottomed out twice needing CPR to revive her heart. Wendy Then was life flighted to providence CICU unit to try to save her life, where she underwent a second surgery to put in a bivad machine to take over the work of the right side of her heart. Wendy was placed under medical induced coma. So she could let her other organs rest and her heart to have some time with less pressure of keeping her whole body alive. during this process the doctors in providence hospital found out that the wrong size stents had been placed and to make up for the extra space her body had made blood clots this had caused 70% and 80% blockage. We have also been notified that during her first incorrect surgery she had in Corvallis they had punctured her heart causing internal bleeding and her heart to fail. Wendy continues to be in critical condition in CICU in Portland. She was recently extubating and waking up, We are far from her being in the clear she is going to undergo several more surgeries and recovery is going to be long and extensive, as the Bivad machine is the only thing keeping the right side of her heart pumping Wendy worked full-time and is unable to work for an unknown amount of time if ever again and continues to fight every minute of every day for her life. We’re asking for some help supporting her while she is fighting and recovering. Wendy will need help with home bills as she is not working but also hospital bills, if you don’t have anything to give, please pray for her as we are all standing bedside. Thank you so much.
Update: Wendy's heart has been severely damaged the doctors feel that her survival rate is low. Wendy will never be able to leave the hospital off the support she is receiving by machine. As well as now needing a dialysis machine to keep fluid from putting so much pressure on her body. With this prognosis the doctor feels to know if she will survive this she will need to turn down her assistive devices by 100 flow daily. Wendy continues to have low blood pressure and heart palpations and the doctor said that they would like to add an additional lead to her pacemaker. This procedure did not take and did not help her. Wendy fought for her life for an amazing 15 days before she was unable to fight any longer. Yesterday on June 11th at 11:15 Wendy passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her bedside. This has been the hardest thing we have ever went through. At this time we are ask for help and support laying our mother to rest.
