There is a lot of good news to share regarding the Gamma Xi Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha at K-State:
Tim Hickok GX 627 purchased the Annex from Housing Board a few weeks ago. The sale reduced the mortgage balance and overall operating costs, and allowed for refinancing the remaining debt on the chapter house. Tim is rehabbing the Annex and has agreed to sell it back to Housing Board at a reasonable price in the next few years.
Lambda Chi Alpha CEO Troy Medley and four staff members from International Headquarters spent 3 days at the chapter in late February holding a workshop with the undergraduates. The workshop focused on recruitment strategy, accountability, financial management and budgeting, and was very well received by the men.
Dr. Todd Crane GX 1246 recently took over as the new alumni advisor for the chapter. Todd is a doctor in Manhattan, and is in the process of recruiting an Alumni Advisory Board to assist him.
New Housing Board leadership is in place, including President Gabe Dinkel GX 1355, Vice President Paul Siegfried GX 866, Treasurer Brad Shirer GX 651, and Secretary Todd Briggeman GX 1047.
Last year we kicked off the SAVE THE CHAPTER HOUSE fundraising campaign to our 1,350 Gamma Xi alumni. The goal was to raise $140,000 to give the undergrads time to recruit new members. COVID-19 impacted these efforts, but the future now looks much brighter! To date, we have raised $94,000 due to the generosity of 155 brothers who have provided an average gift of just over $600. Thank you brothers!
We now need to raise the remaining $50,000 to cover known cash flow deficits through August 2021. We invite you to participate in a unique giving opportunity to amplify your next donation to Gamma Xi. A generous group of alumni brothers have stepped forward and committed $75,000 in funds to match donations made by you. Between now and June 30th, every dollar you donate to THE BIG MATCH (up to $50,000) will be matched at 150%!!
We project that the chapter will be able to pay rent to Housing Board sufficient to cover its fixed costs starting in September 2021. Your donation to THE BIG MATCH is needed to cover mortgage payments, insurance, and property taxes until then. Matching Funds will be used for repairs and improvements to the chapter house that are needed for recruiting new members and to enhance the living experience.
Your donation now will help ensure that future generations of brothers are able to benefit from what we all enjoyed at 505 Denison. However, this match is only possible through June 30th and we will not succeed without a large base of support. Your financial assistance NOW is vitally important to save the chapter house and restore Gamma Xi at KSU!
