Troy was in the prime of his life at 25 years of age. He lived life true to himself, completely at home in his own skin. His infectious nature brought love and laughter into peoples lives. His calmness enveloped you in times of worry or stress. He taught us how the simple pleasures in life are the ones we should treasure.
But on the 27th September 2014, he died suddenly from sudden onset Type 1 Diabetes leading to Diabetic Ketoacidosis {DKA}

Troy had never been diagnosed as Diabetic. He did not exhibit any of the more common symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes however he was suffering flu like symptoms.
This actually can be a sign of Diabetes and DKA can be the first presentation of Diabetes Mellitus / Type 1 Diabetes. One is more at risk because the symptoms can mimic many illnesses and unless diagnosed quickly can be fatal.

We are asking you to support this challenge “Dive in for Diabetes” during the dates of National diabetes week Australia, which is the 9th till the 15th of July 2023.

By your participation and involvement you can create much needed awareness and strengthen community knowledge about Type1 Diabetes and the seriousness of DKA.
