Back on my Feet

Hey everybody. This isn't fun. I know there is a lot going on out there and everyone is in a bad spot. But here is my story. I had a super rough 2020. We all did, though. For me it started with a divorce. In January 2020 I had to start my life all over again. Problem was I was a stay at home dad with a part time job. I had to buy a new life. A place to live, furniture, beds, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, bookshelves, desks, coffee maker, literally anything and everything you would need, except a couch. And not just for me but for my boys too. That put me in a huge hole financially. One that I have not even come close to recovering from an entire year and a half later. A little later in 2020 my car started to go south. Luckily I raised up enough money to get some stuff fixed and recently through the incredible generosity of my ex, Amanda, I got our Honda Element which was an amazing upgrade from my dying car. Unluckily however it is now, at 200,000 plus miles, sputtering and stalling while driving and the engine light is constantly on. Even later in 2020 a global pandemic hit and I was out of work for months and months. Also all my paid gigs I had booked over the year got cancelled. Then my computer decided to die. Which is no good for someone who works from home and who's side gig is graphic design. I had to replace it which just put me further in the financial hole. On top of all that I started having to go to the doctor for a few things. Those few things got turned into more tests. And then a few more tests on top of that. Then medicines and machines. Even though I have insurance the medical bills are insane. To be honest $7,000 barely scratches the surface but it would get me on my feet. It would put me in a position to get a better car and a better home and take away some of the burden of these medical bills. I really do not like this. I think if you know me you know I hate this. But I know if I could just get back on my feet after a horrendous 2020 it would be so amazing for my boys and that is all that matters to me. They are all that matters to me. They matter much more to me than my pride. I am trying my hardest but I sure could use a little help. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
