Help Sara Beat Cancer

As many know, Sara is my sister, my maid of honor, and my best friend. Jason, Sara's boyfriend, and I wanted to start this fund for her so any unforeseen medical costs can be covered to reduce the stress levels that come along with cancer - all the while trying to get through dental school to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist.

Sara is a Michigan State Graduate who was immediately accepted into dental school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. She is in her second year of dental school and is active on the class council.

For the past few months, Sara has been struggling with breathing and chest pains trying to rule out possible reasons for her health ailments. Last week, she was admitted to the hospital to relieve fluid from around her heart only to find a large tumor in front of her heart that was diagnosed as cancer. She underwent many surgeries within a few short days that solved the immediate issues of breathing and stress on her heart. She is now on a long path to recovery starting chemotherapy and radiation. She also plans to continue dental school during this time of recovery.

Jason and I hope that this fundraiser will reduce the additional stresses of financial burdens that can come with both school and medical expenses. Beating cancer is tough enough. We hope that this will give her some peace of mind on this journey to recovery.
