Victoria's Medical Bill Fund

When Victoria Kirby woke up Tuesday, January 20, she had no idea how her life would change in the next twenty-four hours. By mid-morning, Tori was being rushed to Rockford Memorial Hospital, not able to breathe on her own. The carbon dioxide levels in her lungs quickly escalated, a life-threatening problem. Tori is currently in critical condition. She is in an induced coma and on a ventilator waiting for her lungs to heal enough to allow her to try breathing on her own. While the doctors planned this induced coma would only last about three days, those came and went with not enough progress to begin waking her. Once she is awake, her body will need to remember to function on its own. She will need to see specialists, regulate meds, and fight the fear of future recurrences.

 

This will be a long, slow battle.

 

But Tori is a fighter. This twelve-year-old is strong and full of life. Her knock ‘em dead personality doesn’t know the meaning of giving up.

 

Even those traits can’t HEAL her. Victoria, her parents, and brother, Blaine know that GOD is more powerful than this illness. He alone can heal Tori. Please, pray with us that:

-Tori’s right lung will begin functioning

-Her lungs and body quickly remember how to do their job when she is awake and off the ventilator

-Financial issues concerning this lengthy hospital stay will be met as only God can do

 

Russ works in law enforcement and is a volunteer firefighter and paramedic. Summer teaches at a private school. Tori’s brother, Blaine, is seventeen. They are also very active in their local church. Extended family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and classmates who love them surround her family. You are probably one!
