Hi, my name is Diamond, and I was just accepted into the LVN program—a big leap toward becoming a nurse and building a stable life for my son and me.

I’ve been blessed to receive financial aid and a grant to cover most of my tuition, but I still need help with everything else that comes with being a full-time student and single mom.

I’m also part of an apprenticeship program through my job, and one of the requirements is that I can only work 12–16 hours a week while in school. That restriction, while part of the opportunity, makes it incredibly difficult to meet basic needs for myself and my 4-year-old son.

I’m asking for support with:

• Childcare for my 4-year-old son

• An iPad required for classes and clinical documentation

• Books and supplies

• Scrubs and uniforms

• Basic living expenses like rent, food, and transportation for the next year
