So Everyone does these nonprofits for their birthday and none of them every really raise much but thought I’d give it a shot anyway. My nonprofit is my daughter Krystle. They have found pre-cancerous cells and a mass that she needs biopsies on and surgery to remove. Like many people her and her husband are unable to afford medical insurance to cover her. In order to add her to her husbands policy at work it is like $1000. A month for both of them and can’t be done until next year when policies renew. There is no way they can afford that as she is a full time student and keeps her two daughters so her husband can work. If she works it would only cover the cost of daycare so they made the decision for her to stay home with the kids until they are both school age. Everyone says go to Parkland, that’s the county hospital...well she did and got on their insurance however because her husband has a job they have told her she has to come up with$2000. Before they will do anything. Then she can get on a payment plan to pay out the other $4000.
They had her scheduled for surgery after her hemoglobin dropped to a critical level and she spent 2 days in the hospital receiving blood transfusions. When she got there for surgery they told her they wouldn’t do it until she came up with the deposit up front She has been bleeding pretty much nonstop now for over a year Which is why her hemoglobin was at a critical level and she had to have the blood transfusions which has brought her hemoglobin to 8.8 but still nowhere near normal. The transfusions were a temporary fix because she continues to bleed despite the massive amounts of progesterone they are giving her to try to slow it down. So there you have it! That is my wish...or nonprofit cause for my birthday is that my daughter be able to come up with the money to have this surgery that she so desperately needs.
