Many of you know Eddie at OpenMat as an instructor, training partner, professional fighter and someone that was always ready to have a good laugh.
Eight months ago, Eddie had a tumour removed from inside his spinal cord which left him paralyzed from mid-torso down. The symptoms were quick and within 24 hours he was told he would likely never walk again.
Eddie is undergoing rehabilitation 5 days a week and is working hard to obtain the best recovery he can in order to return to his active lifestyle. The future is unclear but the reality of a spinal cord injury is severe and thus there are many health-related complication and limitations to daily life.
